Last week Rick came to Merrigum Primary School to teach us about aboriginal things. He showed us a message stick. It would make a big noise and sent messages to the ladies. He passed around a boomerang. It was heavy. He showed us a thing to carry babies. It looked like a mini canoe. He showed us toys made out of sticks. They had patterns on them. We learnt the meaning of the aboriginal flag. Red means dirt, black means aboriginal people and yellow means the sun. He showed us a big spear. They used a rock to sharpen the spears and make them pointy. It was very interesting seeing all the things and we learnt a lot about aboriginal people and their culture.
